Lisa is one half of twin sister pop duet, The Veronicas, along with her twin sister Jess. They are in Australia to perform at the MTV Australian Video Music Awards tonight, which Jessica Simpson is hosting.

Simpson and Cabrera dated in 2004, and he frequently appeared on her MTV reality series, "The Ashlee Simpson Show."

The love triangle between Ashlee Simpson, her ex Ryan Cabrera and his current squeeze Lisa Origliasso took center stage at the MTV press conference at the Hilton yesterday.

While Ashlee and The Veronicas cosied up in front of the cameras, Confidential can reveal it was a different story backstage. Ashlee baulked at the prospect of meeting her ex's new rock chick, demanding a last-minute stage call. The tension was palpable when she bumped into the pocket rocket twins just as the conference was about to kick off.

When asked by Confidential if we could expect to see any love trouble at tonight's show, Origliasso coolly replied: "Hopefully not, I'm just going with Ryan so, whatever."

Ashlee hit the stage gloating: "I got my man here," a reference to her boyfriend Braxton Olita, but her jaw dropped when told Cabrera was also in town.

Jessica Simpson later left with Ashlee for the MTV rehearsal at Homebush – then finally headed out to dinner at Wildfire last night. Guitarist Olita then zipped past on his skateboard with a sunflower to cheer up his missus, telling Confidential: "It's for Ashlee, I bought it from a guy on the street."
